Ellamae is a gorgeous mare approved in 1994 by the American Holsteiner Horse Association with total Bonits of 46. She is in the Main Mare book of both the American Holsteiner Horse Association and Rhienland Pfalz-Saar International. "Ellie" backs up her looks with fabulous talent. She had an extremely successful jumping career as a young filly in Germany before being imported to the United States. She is very uphill in her movement, has a huge step with tons of animation and plenty of scope. Her conformation is such as to give her great talent with her hocks set well underneath her and a big sloping shoulder.
Orginally registered as chestnut due to her dark summer coat Ellie was dna tested and is indeed a palomino mare, while she may be the "wrong" color we could not pass by her outstanding albeit unorthadox bloodlines. We have high hopes for this mare when crossed with some of our best jumping stallions. Her sire Montevideo was 1948 Olympic Gold Medalist in Dressage as well as 1983 & 1985 European Gold Medal Champion. Also claiming the 1983 Achen Bronze European medal Montevideo went on to be one of the best European Stallions of his time. Ellies dam Ma Soleil was a high calibre show jumping mare who earned numerous championship titles, trophies and medals.
