Gunstano is the senior stallion of our farm having been with us since he was a young colt. Gunstano trained well and had speed to burn on the track but his career was cut short before he made his first start when he came down with severe pnemonia. While Gustano eventually fully recovered the scarring on his lungs was to severe for him to ever return to racing. Since his retirement Gunstano has been living the life here at our farm. He goes out for regular hacks around the farm or local trails and enjoys greeting visitor to the farm or accepting treats from the local children.

About the Sire: Gunsynd Started in 54 races bringing home 29 Wins, 7 Places & 8 Shows. "The Goondiwindi Grey" was one of the most popular horses to ever race in Australia and will always be remembered for his farewell to racegoers at Randwick when he walked onto the track, turned and seemed to bow to the crowd in a final salute. GUNSYND was most effective over a mile but was so game that he ran third in the two mile Melbourne Cup with 60.5 kg. He was purchased at the Brisbane sales for $1,300 and was originally trained in Brisbane by Bill Wehlow where he won races but was always beaten in top-class events. His Goondiwindi-based owners decided to transfer him to Sydney and trainer T J Smith. With Smith he had 32 starts and won 17. His record over a mile from six starts was wins in 1970 Fernhill Handicap, 1971 AJC Epsom Handicap, 1971 Toorak Handicap, 1971 VRC George Adams Handicap, 1972 AJC Doncaster Handicap and second, beaten a half head by Triton in the 1972 AJC Epsom Handicap. A highlight of his career was a win in the MVRC W S Cox Plate.
About the Dam: Not much is know about Zutano, she suffered a tragic injury as a yearling and never went on to racing career. Zutano was uses mostly as a broodmare but she proved to be hard to settle and only produced 2 foals.
